4-Day Batanes Package: North Batan, Sabtang and South Batan

What the listing tells you about the province

The KKJ description is where several of the basic numbers on this site come from. Batanes covers about 230 square kilometres, which makes it the smallest province in the Philippines by land area, and it has the lowest population of any province in the country. Its position produces near-constant strong wind, which is why it is called the Home of the Winds.

The small population is also why the environment is largely unspoiled: expansive pastureland, charming lighthouses, and horses and cows roaming freely in the fields. That is the listing's own framing, and it holds up.

Day one: North Batan, 12:00 to 17:30

Pickup after the morning flight, then the North Batan loop. The listing names Basco Cathedral — the first church built in Batanes — and Vayang Rolling Hills as the headline stops, and the standard route around them takes in the PAGASA radar station, Tukon Chapel, the Dipnaysupuan Japanese tunnel, Valugan Boulder Beach, Naidi Hills and Basco Lighthouse.

It is the gentlest of the three days and the right one to be jet-lagged on.

Day two: Sabtang, 08:00 to 17:00

The listing's Sabtang day names the Savidug stone houses preserved by the Ivatans and the Santa Rosa de Lima Chapel — the only chapel in the area still roofed with cogon grass — along with the Open Book library where visitors write their own entries.

An 08:00 start is later than the 05:30 the Klook package uses, which is worth asking about at booking: the faluwa from Ivana Port leaves at roughly 06:00 to 07:00 and usually runs once. If your transfer south begins at 08:00 you are not making the standard morning boat, so confirm with the operator how the crossing is arranged on your date.

Day three: South Batan, 09:00 to 17:00

The listing's own South Batan list is the fullest of any package compared here: Chawa View Deck, Mahatao Shelter Port, Marlboro Country, Ivana Lighthouse, the House of Dakay, the Honesty Coffee Shop and the Motchong Viewpoint, plus Uyugan town proper, Sitio Song Song, Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, the Alapad Rock Formation, the Madangay viewing point and the BAMSO Batanes museum.

The House of Dakay is dated to 1887 on the listing — the oldest stone house on the island, and still standing after every typhoon since.

Day four: the flight out

Day four is the return to Manila. There is no touring on it, which is the single most important thing to understand about the price: you are buying three touring days and a transfer, not four days of guiding.

Whether that fourth day is worth $234 more than the Klook three-day equivalent is the question this page exists to put in front of you. The honest answer for most travellers is no — but the listing is private, includes hotel pickup and drop-off, and comes from an operator described on the listing as accredited, and some people will pay for that.

Outside it

Hotel accommodation is explicitly not included — this is a touring package, not a hotel package, and three nights in Basco are on you. Personal expenses and tips are excluded, and the listing names a Batanes tourism entry fee of PHP 350 per head as something you pay separately.

On top of that sits the provincial visitor registration introduced under Executive Order No. 23, Series of 2026: PHP 405 per person — PHP 200 ecotourism fee plus PHP 205 visitor ID fee — pre-paid at bookings.breathtakingbatanes.com since 15 June 2026, with a QR code presented at Basco Airport. Whether the PHP 350 named on this listing has been superseded by the newer PHP 405 charge is a question for the operator; the listing still names it, so budget for both and ask at booking.

Restrictions, which are the strictest here

This listing excludes more people than any other compared on this site: children under 6, pregnant travellers, people with mobility impairments, people with heart problems and wheelchair users. If any of those apply to your party, the Klook packages state instead that they can accommodate pregnant travellers, PWDs and people with medical conditions — ask before you book either way.

The on-tour rules are also the most explicit: no drones, no smoking, no littering, no feeding animals and no touching plants. Public smoking is prohibited across Batanes anyway.

The arithmetic

The 3-day Klook package is $96.79 per person and covers North Batan, Sabtang and South Batan with lunch, transfers, the Protected Area Management Board fee, the Visitor's Sustainable Ecotourism fee, the port fee and the boat included. This listing is $331 per person for the same three routes plus a departure-day transfer.

That is a difference of $234 per person, or $468 for a couple, for one extra day on which no touring is scheduled. Neither price includes accommodation, and both exclude the provincial registration fee.

When this package is still the right one

Three cases. If GetYourGuide is the platform you already use and trust for support, that has real value when something goes wrong at distance. And if you want a named, accredited operator on the booking — KKJ Travel Services — rather than a listing that does not publish its operator, this one names it and the Klook packages do not.

What you are not buying is more of Batanes. The stop lists are the same, and this listing has no review record yet to weigh against the other's 66.

The fourth day, used properly

If you want four days in Batanes rather than three, the cheaper structure is to book the 3-day package and keep the extra day unscheduled. That is what local advice recommends anyway: five days on the ground so a cancelled boat or a grounded flight does not delete an island.

An unscheduled day in Basco is not wasted. It is the Fundacion Pacita ridge, the town market, the lighthouse at a quieter hour, or a second attempt at whatever the weather took.
